When you turn up at Steve Retson Project, reception will ask you to register and provide basic contact details. Your details will remain confidential. While it is better if you can provide your real name and contact details, we understand that some men prefer to give us a made up name to protect their anonymity.

The registration form will ask if you agree for us to share only relevant information with your GP or other parts of the NHS. We would only need to do this if you required follow on care provided by other parts of the NHS. You can choose for no information to be shared outside of Steve Retson Project.

Once you have registered, you will see a member of the clinical team in private. Our staff are experienced, approachable and supportive. They are very used to talking to gay and bisexual men about all aspects of sex and relationships. We may ask you questions about your recent sexual activity and relationships. We understand that people may find this difficult. These questions are important to ensure you get the correct treatment, care and support for your needs.

We will explain if you need to have any tests to check for possible STIs and HIV. We will then explain when and how you can get your results. For more information please visit our services section. If there are other circumstances in your life you would like support with, we may offer you a chance to talk to the SRP Choices team
